This beautiful black wool is naturally colored, straight from the sheep—no dyes involved! The rich tones can vary due to natural sun-bleaching on the sheep’s back and the blend of all-natural wool fibers. Shades range from deep charcoal to soft silvery grey.
Please specify if you prefer a darker or lighter shade when ordering, as color variation is natural and limited quantities are available.
What is wool batting?
Wool batting has been scoured and carded. The wool fibres are not directional, or straightened.
This is almost like your blank canvas. Here are some examples of how to use this wool batting:
- Felting Projects
- Quilt and Blanket insulation
- Comb it, so the fibres are all straight and aligned in a single direction. Turning the wool batting into wool roving
- Once turned into wool roving the wool can be turned into yarn
